MT Habip Bayrak is an 8400 DWT IMO 2 chemical tanker, designed to Northern European standards by our experienced design team and built in our shipyard. The MT Habip Bayrak is designed and built to carry her crew and cargo with the maximum safety and comfort at all times.
One of the key differences between the MT Habip Bayrak and her equivalents is the provision of a more powerful engine, this leads to greater comfort and safety for her crew and cargo. The MT Habip Bayrak is designed to sail 14.00 knots at 90 % MCR so a Wartsila 8L-32 (4000 kW at 750 rpm) was chosen as main engine supported by a controllable pitch propeller with four blades of 4.5m diameter. This propulsion system is combined with a flap rudder and a 450 kW powered, fixed pitch, Schottel bow-thruster to maximize manoeuvring capacity.
The MT Habip Bayrak is equipped with a take me home system to be able to continue sailing in the unlikely event of main engine failure. This system is capable of sailing at 7.5 knots via operation of the propeller by diesel generators and a shaft alternator. Because of this all three auxiliary diesel generators were chosen to have a high (580 kW) power output but only two of three diesel generators are needed to provide the required power.
However MDO bunker expenses drop to zero during normal sailing as the electrical system is by supplied by a 1350 kVA shaft alternator.
As mentioned above, the vessel is outfitted with three 580 kW Man-Lindenburg auxiliary diesel generators for in port operations. It is possible to start the propeller by use of two of the diesel generators and a PTO/PTI shaft alternator if needed in order to keep the ship security at maximum. The vessel also equipped with additional an 150 kW emergency diesel generator to be prepared for any contingency.
Even with all these comfort and security features the cruising range of MT Habip Bayrak is still 7500 nautical miles.
There are two 2000kW thermal oil boilers and one economizer (600 kW) in the ship, for general usage, cargo heating as supporting cargo tank and tank wash heating. In addition a 2200kg/h capacity steam generator is provided for tank cleaning.
The cargo handling system is comprised of 12 Hamworthy deep well pumps and is designed as around 12 tank segregation, each tank with a capacity of 250 m3/h at 100 mlc. Cargo pumps are soft starter-frequency converter controlled. There are also two deep well ballast pumps for the ballast system.
All cargo tanks are coated with Marine Line for safely carrying acids, alkalis, solvents, edible oils and many other liquid cargoes.
The accommodation area is designed in accordance with ILO rules, with 18 cabins (including private WC), one hospital, two mess rooms (officers and crew) and two ship offices.
